Kiwanis de Amigos Rattlesnake Run

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the 21st Annual Kiwanis de Amigos RATTLESNAKE RUN will be held at Danny Lopez Park (formerly Christopher Columbus Park) 4300 N. Silverbell Road, Tucson AZ.  Typically between 35 and 40 middle schools compete over a 1.66 miles course.

The registration deadline is midnight September 10, 2025 and all athletes must be registered via athletic.net There is no charge or fee for participating in this event, all expenses are handled by Kiwanis de Amigos. Each team is responsible for transportation to and from the event.

The RATTLESNAKE RUN is organized by the Kiwanis de Amigos, but all the Kiwanis clubs in the Tucson area are involved.  The University of Arizona track and field officials control the start and finish of the races.  Members of the Sabino High School Key Club, the Ironwood Ridge Key Club, and other local Kiwanis clubs are course officials.

Unfortunately the cost of T-shirts has become prohibitive for the club, so there will not be T-shirts distributed at this event. However there will be a T-shirt vendor on-site with a variety of T-shirts available for purchase.

Thanks to wide community support, this has become the largest middle school cross country meet in Arizona.  It takes a lot of work to put on an event like this for the kids of Southern Arizona, we always need volunteers to help out, if you or your service organization would like to help us, feel free to contact us.

MEET CHECK-IN

Check-in opens at 6:30 am. Teams are strongly urged to arrive at Danny Lopez Park before 7:00 am for check-in so the first event can start on time and athletes have adequate time to warm-up. Coaches shall have signed liability release forms sorted in alphabetical order (A to Z) by last name and gender to facilitate check-in.  As always, athletes must have a signed liability form in order to compete.

Please feel free to contact the Kiwanis de Amigos Head Registrar – Bill Corr ([email protected]), or Registrar – Scott Meyer ([email protected]) with any questions or concerns.
