Kiwanis de Amigos Rattlesnake Run

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the 20th Annual Kiwanis de Amigos RATTLESNAKE RUN was held at Christopher Columbus Park.  A record number of 40 middle schools with 443 student-athletes competed over a 1.66 miles course.

Nineteen of the 40 schools competing were from outside metro Tucson.  Theodore Roosevelt Middle School (Fort Apache, AZ) traveled 193 miles one way to be there.

The RATTLESNAKE RUN is organized by the Kiwanis de Amigos, but all the Kiwanis clubs in the Tucson area are involved.  The University of Arizona track and field officials control the start and finish of the races.  Members of the Sabino High School Key Club, the Sabino High School Key Club, and other local Kiwanis clubs are course officials.

Thanks to wide community support, this has become the largest middle school cross country meet in Arizona.  It takes a lot of work to put on an event like this for the kids of Southern Arizona, we always need volunteers to help out, if you or your service organization would like to help us, feel free to contact us.
