On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the 20th Annual Kiwanis de Amigos RATTLESNAKE RUN will be held at Christopher Columbus Park. An estimated 36 middle schools with approximately 450+ student-athletes will be competing over a 1.66 miles course.
Public, private and parochial middle schools from southern Arizona are invited. There are four races (Boys A, Boys B, Girls A, and Girls B). The top five finishers in each race received a medal, and the next 15 received a special meet pin. Trophies are present to the top three boy’s teams and the top three girl’s teams. No fees are charged to the schools nor the athletes.
The RATTLESNAKE RUN is organized by the Kiwanis de Amigos, but all the Kiwanis clubs in the Tucson area are involved. The University of Arizona track and field officials control the start and finish of the races. Members of the Sabino High School Key Club, the University of Arizona’s Circle K Club, and other local Kiwanis clubs are course officials.
Thanks to wide community support, this has become the largest middle school cross country meet in Arizona. You can register on Athletic.net .
It takes a lot of work to put on an event like this for the kids of Southern Arizona, we always need volunteers to help out, if you or your service organization would like to help us, feel free to contact us at the addresses below.
